$2.05 OOP at Walgreens!

I have not been going to Wags as much lately as I just haven't been that impressed with their deals lately, and I let my RR's expire again :(  But I did pop in for this money making scenario I read about over on The Krazy Coupon Lady

2x Olay bar soap (Sale 2 for $4)
Secret travel sized deoderant (.99 cents)
2x CoffeeMate ( Sale BOGO $2.49)
3x Dove Chocolate (2 for $1.59, 1 for .89 cents)

Used coupons:
$5 off 1 Olay wyb 1 Secret (PG 10/31)
2x .55/1 Coffeemate from HERE
B2G1 Dove chocolate bars from coupons.com
Used WAGS in ad coupon for Mars chocolate, took off .92 cents ( for dove)

Paid $2.05
Got back $1 RR (from Olay)

$16.69 @Albertsons!

Yeeeep!  This was a good one.  I got to use my coupons for FREE butter, flour and eggs ( I posted about those HERE).  I also found more coupons on a tear pad for "Save $2 on nabisco crackers wyb a 12 pack of Coca-Cola product".  The Nabisco crackers were on sale for $1.88 AND were part of  this week's "Buy 10 save $5" Scenario.  I bought 4 crackers ( FREE with the tear pad coupons), 2 chex mix, 2 Pillsbury crescent rolls and 2 redi-whips.  I used .50/1 Chocolate chex mix from...I don't remember , $1/2 Pillsbury crescent rolls from the Safeway Save $60 booklet, and $1/2 redi-whip from All You magazine.  Used 3 doublers (cashier went ahead and made my 3rd doubler $1, even though my coupon was only for .50 cents.  So nice!)

Also, a note.  My original total was $21.69.  It seemed a bit high, but I hadn't added it up in my head, so I just paid and went to my car.  Once I was in my car, I looked at my receipt and noticed that the $5 from the buy 10 save $5 promo hadn't come off.  I went back in with my receipt and talked to customer service, and they refunded me $5.00.  This is another example of why it is so, so important to look at your receipt before you leave the store!

As you may have noticed, I have been stocking up on Thanksgiving essentials for the past few weeks.  I won't be able to get everything for my Thanksgiving dinner at rock bottom prices, but I am going to get as many things as I can!

Free Crackers at Albertsons!

OK, I love it when I carefully plan a shopping trip and come home with a bunch of free stuff.  But getting free stuff that I didn't plan on?  Even better.  J and I did a quick Albertson's run this afternoon because they had the unbelievable stock up price of 4- 12packs of Coke for $9.00.  That in itself is exciting, because I consider 4 for $10 a pretty good stock up price.  Then, when we got there I noticed these beautiful coupons taped to a bunch of the Coke 12-Packs.

Hmmm, I carefully read the coupon.  It said something like "Save $2.00 when you buy 1 Sprite 12 pack, 8 pack etc., (OR ANY OTHER COKE PRODUCT!)  AND 1 Nabisco Cracker....  OK, this is good, usually these coupons seem to make you buy multiples of things, and aren't even worth it.  But this is looking promising.  After loading our cart with 4- 12 packs, we scurried over to the cracker aisle to find this:

Sweet!  Free crackers!  Not only that, but the overage went toward our bottle deposit.

So, we ended up with 4- 12 packs of Coke and 4 boxes of crackers for $10.52! ( Oregon has a bottle deposit of 5 cents a can).
Savings: $32.50!

J is going back tomorrow to stock up on Pepsi (he is a Pepsi fan, I'm a Coke fan, but somehow we make it work).  Pepsi is 4 for $10 at Albies, but they had some nice .55 cents off one 12-pack peelies that I swiped to send him to the store with tomorrow, which will save us a nice $2.20, making it actually 4 for $8!  If you are a pop drinker, the holidays are a great time to stock up on soda.

Oh, which reminds me - if you are a Coke drinker, you really should sign up for My Coke Rewards.  Every box and bottle has a code that you enter on the site for points, and when you get a certain amount of points you can redeem them for free stuff.  I always use my points for a coupon for a FREE 12 pack.  Normally it is 240 points to get that coupon ( a 12 pack gets you 10 points, a 24 pack is 20 points, a bottle cap gives you 3 points, to give you an idea of how long it takes to build them up) - But during the holidays they are doing half off rewards.  So I was just able to order another FREE 12 pack coupon for only 120 points. Do it.  Do it now.

Totally Free Thanksgiving Cards from Tiny Prints!

Wow!  I am so stoked.  I just ordered 13 cards from Tiny Prints for FREE including shipping!  Tiny Prints is doing a promotion for their Thanksgiving cards, only through tomorrow.  Go HERE and choose from their Thanksgiving cards.  Select as many as you want, personalize them, and then select to have them all shipped to you ( if you decide to have them mailed directly to the recipient, you will have to pay .44 cents each for that).  You will have to sign up to have an account with Tiny Prints ( that's free, of course).  Then when you are ready to check out, make sure you are under the "PAY AS YOU GO" option ( mine was like that automatically, but you can double check at the top of the page).  Enter the coupon code FREETHX at the bottom, and your total should drop to $0!  I ordered 3 personal cards and 10 of the Thank You cards!

Thanks Frugal Living NW!

More Albertsons doubling

Another doubling trip.  I feel weird doing more than 2 transactions at a time, so I tend to break it up.
Paid $1.10 OOP
Saved $15.94

I did this in two transactions, because Albertsons only allows 3 doublers to be used per transaction.  I bought:
2x Orville Microwave Popcorn (Sale 2 for $4.00)
- 2x .75/1 Orville from Safeway $60 in savings booklet
2x Hefty one zip bags ( 2 for $4)
-2x $1/1 Hefty One Zip from Safeway $60 in savings booklet
2x Sierra Mist 2 liter (Sale $1 each)
-2x .50/1 Sierra Mist Peelie
Doubled all coupons ( in 2 transactions)
Paid only .50 cents each for the popcorn and the bottle deposit for the sierra mist.  Everything else was free!

Walgreens 11/14

This was  a fast one, I might go back later to do the Sinex deal, but I wanted to get in early to snag the free dish soap.
Paid $3.15
Saved: $11.00!
Yes, this is wayyyyy more oop than I normally spend.  The reason is the Organix Shampoo.  As drugstore shampoo goes, Organix is my favorite, and there are NEVER any coupons for it.  This scent was on clearance for $3.59, which is about half off.  That is the cheapest I have seen it, so I decided to snag a bottle.  They didn't have any conditioner, just shampoo, but I figure I will get some conditioner later when it is on sale somewhere.

4x Gain Dish Soap ($1.79 reg, .89 cents each with WAGS in ad coupon)
Organix Shampoo (Reg $6.99, clearance for $3.59)

Used 4x $1/1 Gain Dish Soap from 10/10 PG
Gain soap was free plus some overage towards shampoo!

Remember to scan your Manufacture coupons BEFORE you scan your Wag's coupons, and have something else in there to absorb the overage!

Thanks Wild for Wags!

Albertson's Doublers!

Yes!  I'm loving all these Albertson's doubler deals.  I had 2 scenarios worked out, which is good because the 1st one I was going to do didn't happen since my store was SOLD OUT of the Betty Crocker Brownies.  Dang it!  It was probably my coupon nemesis, who probably also swiped all the $60 in savings coupon booklets from Safeway.  Oh well, that is the life in couponing, you gotta be able to roll with the punches.  Here is the scenario I worked out.
OOP: .90 cents!
Saved: $37.08!
That's a 98% savings!  Heck yes.

Here's what I did:
Instant Savings Spotlight:  Save $5.00 when you buy 10 selected items.  The 10 items I bought were:
4x Betty Crocker Cake Mix (.99 cents each)
Betty Crocker Frosting ($1.49 each)
- $1/2 wyb Betty Crocker cake mix AND frosting
2x Nestle Morsels ($1.99 each)
-2x $1/1 Nestle Morsels Printable ( no longer available)
2x Pam Cooking Spray ($2.49 each)
- 2x $1/1 Pam Cooking Spray from $60 in savings Safeway booklet Wesson Cooking Oil ($2.49 each)
-$1/1 Wesson Cooking Oil from $60 in savings Safeway booklet
- $5.00 Instant Savings
- $3.00 Doublers
ALSO 2x Wholly Guacamole ($2.99 each)
Used $4/1 Wholly Product from Facebook (no longer available)
Cashier adjusted down to $2.99 - no overage!

OK - So, my total was lower than I thought, and I was just sort of confused and pleasantly surprised, so I paid and left.  Now reviewing my receipt, I realize that I paid less than I should have.  I think the checker somehow scanned 2 coupons twice ( giving me $2 extra dollars off).  Then, I literally JUST REALIZED that the Nestle Morsel Coupon was $1/2, not $1/1.  I gave it to the checker thinking it was a $1/1, and it went through.  Oooooooops.  I would NEVER knowingly give an extra coupon for an item.  That is coupon fraud, and I DO NOT condone that.  It makes couponing bad for everyone.  So, I do feel bad about that.  That being said, I do carefully review my coupons and try very hard to always use the right ones in the right situations.  I am not perfect, and sometimes make mistakes.

Super Fast Walgreens Trip

So, lately I have been not at all interested in Wags.  The deals have just not been tempting me.  However, I was impressed with the FREE baking powder and the great price on Libby's Pumpkin.  With baking season fast approaching, it's a great time to stock up.
Paid: .49 cents!
Saved $3.28

Haha, not my best savings yet, but I still feel like it was a good deal.  I didn't have a coupon for the pumpkin, but I had overage from my baking powder coupons that covered part of it.

Libby's Canned Pumpkin (.99 cents with WAGS in ad coupon)
Clabber Girl Baking Powder (2 for $1 with WAGS in ad coupon)
Used 2 .75/1 Clabber Girl from HERE  (use zip77477)
Overage from Clabber Girl went towards the pumpkin!
The key to this is to have the checker scan your Walgreens ad coupons AFTER you give them your manufacture coupons.  Otherwise the register won't take it, because the coupon is worth more than the item.

I really would have liked to stock up on more pumpkin, because that is by far the lowest price I have seen.  Most other stores have it on sale for $1.99 or $1.79.  I was out of luck, though, because there was only 1 can left when I got there!  Oh well, I'm glad that I at least got one can.

Doubling at Albies!

I'm pretty proud of this one.
Paid .52 cents!!
Saved: $40.90!  Pretty great.

Although I was annoyed to notice on several occasions that the diet or healthier options were not included in the sales.  This included the hot chocolate, soup and waffles.  I was a little disappointed with that, but I guess they figure people on a diet are willing to shell out more for their food ( it's not fair, really, and must be why America is fat!)

BUT WAIT!  I almost forgot the best part!  After my first transaction a bunch of catalinas printed out, and I didn't bother looking at them until I got to my car.  Guess what they were??  1 coupon for a FREE bag of Albertson's flour (up to $2.50), 1 coupon for a FREE dozen of Albertson's eggs, and a coupon for a FREE 1 lb of butter!  Holy cow!  No other purchase requirements, except that you use your preferred card.  I'm sort of embarrassingly excited about this.  I have no idea how I got the catalinas, but what I bought in that transaction were: 4 boxes Eggos, 4 cans Progresso soup, and 2 bottles Sierra Mist Cranberry Splash.

Retail Therapy

Sometimes a girl just has to shop.  Coming up on my one year anniversary of extreme brokeness, and not being able to go shopping just isn't funny anymore (nor was it ever funny, actually).  So, I gathered up my coupons and special deals, and headed to the mall.  What did I get?
1 Pair of Gap 1969 Jeans (reg $69.50 - paid $41.70!)
1 Pair Victorias Secret Cotton Hip Huggers (reg $8.50, paid $0.00!
1 Travel Size Bath and Body Works Lotion (Reg $3.50, paid $1.00!)
1 Bath and Body Works Lip Gloss (reg $8.00, paid $0.00!)

Total would be: $89.50
PAID $42.70
SAVED $46.80!  A savings of 52%.  Not bad for retail

What I used:  Gap has a promotion called recycle your blues - if you bring in an old pair of jeans, you can get 30% off a new pair of 1969 jeans.  Then there is a facebook promo to add an extra 10% if you like them on facebook.  When i got to the store, the jeans were 40% off anyway, so the coupons didn't really matter.

The VS hip huggers were free because of a coupon I got in the mail - no purchase neccesary!

Lastly, I used the Bath and Body Works coupon to get a free lip product with ANY purchase.  So I purchased the new Secret Wonderland Lotion in the travel size which is on promotion for a $1.  Go HERE for that guy.

Hello Wags!

OK, I've been majorly coupon slacking.  All summer.  I know, I get it.  But, it's now fall, and I'm jumping back on the bandwagon.  I ran out to Wags today, thinking they would be out of everything, and I was pleasantly surprised to get most of the things I wanted.  Even the EOS lip balm!  Ok, so here is what I got:
To get My RR's started, I first did two transactions purchasing Nyquil 2/$10, get $5 RR.  I did them separately so that both RRs would print.  I use Nyquil and Dayquil when I am sick (like I am currently), so it's a good idea to stock up on them when they go on sale.  Having an RR deal on top of it is just icing!  I then used my 2 $5 RR's to do the third transaction:

Schick Hydro 3 blade Razor ($7.99 Sale)
Walgreens Honey Bear 12oz ($1.99 w/in ad coupon reg $4.29)
EOS Summer Fruit Lip Balm (Sale $3.00)
Act II Single microwave popcorn x 4 (.25 cents each w/in ad coupon reg .99 cents each)

Used $4/1 Schick Hydro from 10/3 SS
2 $5 RRs from Vicks
Paid .27 cents OOP
SAVED: $19.76

GOT $4 RR from Schick, $3 RR from EOS

This was a quickly planned trip, so I did use some RRs on food items ( the popcorn and honey).  There may have been another RR item I could have thrown in there, but the razor and the lip balm were the 2 I was interested in, so I was glad to get those.  When I saw the sale price on the honey I grabbed it, has anyone else noticed how expensive honey has gotten lately?  It must have something to do with the mysterious bee deaths.

Anyway, I have some great free stuff, and some brand spanking new RR's to use next week.  Bring it on Walgreens!

I wonder if Walgreens missed me?

I'm back!  After several disappointing weeks at Wags, followed by me taking a mini vacation that caused me to forget to both buy newspapers AND use my Register Rewards before they expired, I'm back in the saddle.  Yes, that's right, I am guilty of letting my precious RRs expire.  So sad.  Luckily for me, Wags seems to be getting it together and offered some great deals this week.
OOP: .84 cents
Saved: $25.20
RRs Used: $11
RRs Earned: $10

Note: I started out with a $5 RR from this scenario: Buy 2 Vicks Nyquils at 2/$10 - I used 2x $1.50/1 from 8/29 PG.  Paid $7 - Got back a $5 RR.

Transaction #1
Impruv Lotion  ($4.99 Sale)
Colgate Advanced ($2.99 Sale)
Butterfinger Pumpkin (.59 cents) Filler

Used Coupons:
$2/1 Impruv Lotion from HERE
$1/1Colgate from Diabetes and You Magazine (in Wags pharmacy)
WAGS in ad coupon for butterfinger pumpkin took off .20 cents

Used $5 RR from Vicks
Paid .37 cents
Got $4 RR for Impruv and $2 RR from Colgate

Transaction #2
2x Chex Mix (.99 cents each Sale)
Carmex Lotion (4.99 Sale)

Used Coupons:
.50/1 chex mix from 8/8 GM ( I thought I had another, but couldn't find it)
Used $4 RRimpruv and $2 RR colgate
Paid .47 cents

Got back $4 RR Carmex

I was surprised and pleased that my Wags was well stocked on everything on my list.  I plan on going back tomorrow for another transaction, but it is a bit more complicated,. and I didn't want to do it since I had J with me.  He gets antsy.  Plus, I don't like to do too many transactions in one trip, if possible.  I was soo happy to get the Chex mix, since J is constantly harassing me for Chex mix when it is full price.  I realize from this description it sounds like I'm talking about my kid, but I'm not.  He's my boyfriend.

Anyway, I am glad to be back in the coupon swing of things!

Great Mail Day!

Check out my great mail day!  My samples have been dwindling, probably because I haven't been requesting as many lately, or maybe there have been less available.  Either way, I love a good mail day!
I got my American Apparel zip up jacket from winning the Sobe Heads or Tails instant win game - it is super cute!  And it only says "Sobe" on the back right under the neck, in not an obvious way, so it's not like you are wearing a big ad.  I also got my FREE 12 pack coupon from My coke rewards - which I promptly took to the store, which is why you see the actual 12-pack here.  If you drink Coke products, you should definitely sign up for My Coke Rewards, why not get some free coke?

I also got a sample of Purity Cleansing Cloths from Philosophy, and a full sized Veria Vanilla Organic Lip Balm.  Yay for freebies!

Walgreens 8/9

So, a decent week at Wags.  Sadly, my Wags didn't have the Secret Deodorant on clearance, so I wasn't able to get that money maker.  The Dial bodywash isn't really my thing, so it's going in my donation bag - but it was free and a good way to roll my RRs.
OOP: .59 Cents
Saved: $38.64
Used: $9 RRs
Got: $5 RRs

1 Transaction:
Schick Hydro Shave Gel ($1.99)
Schick Hydro Cartridge ($7.99)
Dial Bodywash ($3.99)
2x Kotex U Pads  (2/$7)
All Free and Clear Laundry Detergent ($3.99)

Used Coupons:
$1/1 Schick Hydro Shave Gel from 8/8 SS
FREE Schick Hydro Razor or blades (They sent it to me for mailing them a compliment)
2x $1/1 Kotex U pads from a sample or 8/8 SS
AND $2/1 Kotex U WAGS MONTHLY coupon book
$1/1 Dial Bodywash from HERE
$1/1 All from 8/1 RP

Used $8 RR Complete and $1 RR Crayola

Paid .59 OOP
Got $2 RR Schick and $3 RR Dial

I was happy to be able to use my FREE Schick Hydro coupon and get an RR.  I got the coupon awhile back, but I was saving it for an RR deal.  I thought about holding on to it in hopes of a higher value RR, but since this is a monthly deal and my coupon expired 9/30, I decided not to risk it.  Schick sent me the coupon because I sent them a letter telling them how much I love this razor, in fact I basically just copied and pasted my review that I wrote HERE.

I'm really liking the Kotex U that I stocked up on a few months ago, so I was happy with paying .50 cents  box for them.  All around a good week for OOP, although I dropped a few RRs.

The Visine was a good money maker - so that helped lower my OOP a bit, which I needed since I started out with only $5 RRs.  The Complete and the Alive were also money makers with the coupons, so it was a good, money making week!  Yay, hopefully Wags will continue to do what I love - pay me to shop! :)

FREE PocketBac at Bath and Body Works!

OK, so earlier today at work I was scrolling through my facebook app on my iphone and I SWEAR I saw a post from Bath and Body Works saying "Free Dark Kiss 2oz lotion".  Obviously since I was at work and on my iphone I couldn't print the coupon.  Now that I am home, I am seeing a coupon for a FREE pocet bac, but nothing at all about Dark Kiss.  Hmmm.  Suspicious.  But either way, I love a freebie, so I won't complain!  Go HERE to print your coupon, and run to B&BW this weekend to redeem it!  Offer is only good July 30th-August 1st!

Walgreens 7/18

Yay!  I was so excited for a good week at Wags!  The last few weeks have been so lackluster that even a decent week would have looked good, but this turned out to be a better week than I thought.

Total $3.98
Used $3.50 RR from Colgate
Paid .48 cents OOP
Got $5 RR from Dr. Scholls!

A few notes about this:  The Pilot Pens are an awesome money maker, which is why I was able to get 2 packs of pens and tube of toothpaste for only $1 RR.  I tried several different Dr. Scholls insoles with the $5/1 Wags coupon book, and none of them worked, I later found out that the arch supports worked, but by then CR (Coupon Rival) had gotten all of them.  But luckily I was able to snag the last 2 rough skin erasers.  I don't feel bad about taking the last two...I needed 2 to do my deal, and since the arch supports were already sold out, I couldn't do 1 of each (my original plan).  However I really like the rough skin eraser, I snagged a bottle a few weeks ago for free and so I was happy to stock up on more and have Wags pay me to do it!

HOT $2/1 Smart Balance Milk Coupon!

Woo!  Head over to coupons.com to print your $2/1 Smart Balance Milk coupon!  This coupon was actually listed twice, so I was able to print it 4 times!  Sweet!  Expiration isn't until 9/30, so lots of time to use it!  Use zip 10038.  There was also a .75/1 coupon for Smart Balance Milk.

Thanks Wild for Wags!

Yay, Wags!

I was so unimpressed with this weeks ad at Walgreens that I wasn't even going to go...  It was kind of weird not wanting to run to Wags first thing Sunday morning.  But, last night I saw on Hip2Save that there was a really great deal on Scunci Hair Ties, so I just HAD to go :)  I used the candy as fillers, but it got kind of confusing there for a few minutes at the register, and I sort of ended up with more than I needed.  OK, I'm lying about that part, I mean really, who ever heard of "too much" chocolate?
Paid .08 cents OOP!
2 Bonus Packs of Scunci Hair Ties ($2.99 Each)
3x Reeses Big Cup (sale 3 for $2)
Dove Peanut Butter and Chocolate bar (clearance .62 cents)

-Hair Ties range up BOGO, and then I used the in ad coupon which took off $2.00 - so only paid .99 cents for both packs - plus, they were bonus packs, so I actually got 4 regular sized packs for .99 cents!
- Used the in ad coupon for Reese, making them .49 cents each (took off .53 cents)
- Used 3 RRs, paid .08 cents oop!
Whoops, I didn't really mean to use 3 RRs - I would have only used 1, but my store was out of those perfect little 9 cent highlighters for fillers.  It took me awhile before the cashier realized that the Reeses had an in ad coupon. ( they were marked at .49 cents each, but needed the in ad coupon to get that price).  I had been trying to get my total a little over the $2.00 mark, and it didn't work.  Once we figured it out, I had added in so many filler candies that my total was $3.08 before register rewards!  Ahhh... anyway.  Like I said, no such thing as too much chocolate.  And did I mention I love peanut butter?

Another Doubler Adventure

I really, really wanted to do the P&G promo at Albertsons for the free $15 iTunes gift card, but I couldn't figure out a way to make it work without spending too much oop.  I had worked out a scenario before I went, but when I got to the store I realized half of the items on my list weren't participating products.  Oh well, I still got some great deals between this trip and the next (the one I previously posted).

2 Transactions:
3 boxes of Orville Cheddar Cheese Popcorn (sounds gross, but it's actually really good)
(Sale $1.99 each)
2x Philadelphia Cream Cheese (Sale $2.19 each)
Ronzoni Smart Taste Pasta (Sale $1.69)
International Delight Coffee Creamer 32 oz (Sale $3.49)

Free newspapers, the best!

I just had to share this story.  I've been feeling kind of burnt out on couponing lately.  I have been working full time, and I find that couponing is kind of like a part time job.  Although I enjoy it, lately I just haven't been spending the time to do it well.

On the fourth, I was pretty busy.  I worked most of the day, and then went to a BBQ.  I was so busy, in fact, that I forgot to get newspapers!  Wow, this hasn't happened since Easter.  On Monday, when I was on my way to Wags, I decided to swing by a store that I have seen carries the Sunday paper through the week.  But before I went there, I had this nagging feeling that I should give the old Starbucks recycle bin a shot.  Usually My Coupon Rival gets there before me, unless I get there right at close on Sunday night.   It was getting late on Monday afternoon, But I decided to take a quick peek anyway.  Score!  There, sitting on top, was a stack of fully intact newspapers!  I grabbed a handful and scurried to my car, where I flipped through them to make sure the inserts were still there.  They were!  Sweet!  So, I scored 4 free newspapers, and went on my merry way to Wags.

The moral of this story is:  Give yourself a break.  Couponing can be alot of work.  Sometimes life gets busy, and couponing needs to take the back burner.  You can pick up where you left off, more refreshed and ready to go!  Also, the other moral is: Free is better than not free.  :)

.44 Cents OOP!

Alright, so I didn't make it to Wags until Monday, mostly because I was busy on the 4th and there wasn't anything I was super excited about in this week's ad.  Luckily, everyone else must have been thinking the same thing, because almost everything I went in for was stocked.

So, I did drop $2 in RRs - I usually like to come out with more RRs then I went in with - But hey, what are they for if not for spending?  Honestly this week is not too exciting, and I took a sneak peek at next week over on i heart wags - not exciting either.  Come on Walgreens, give me a good week!

Also - I had one more transaction I was going to do, but it involved the crystal clean toothbrushes, which my Wags was out of.  I will be going back today or tomorrow to see if they are back in stock.

Thanks Wild For Wags for this scenario!!

Wags 4 Day Sale

So, I went to do the deals in the 4 day Sale at Wags... And, they had no idea what I was talking about.  I asked the manager if there was a copy of the ad somewhere ( I use it to make sure I am buying the correct items) - He was confused, and didn't know anything about a 4 Day Sale.  It turns out that the ad must be regional, and not advertised in my region - but the cool thing is that the RRs are still printing.  My store was sold out of the Noxzema Razors, and didn't have any Celsius Green Tea in sight.  So I ended up with the few deals I could get my hands on!  Also, I've decided to start a donation box for the extra toiletries I'm accumulating.  I keep you updated on how that goes!

(earlier in the day I was at a different Wags, and they had the pop up tape clearanced for .99 cents.  I was unable to use my coupon for $1 off because of the 1 cent overage.  The associate called over a manager, but he stated there was no way for him to override the transaction and make the coupon go through, even if they adjusted the coupon down.  So, I didn't get it.  I found it for 10 cents more at my regular wags, and so I scooped it up.  It was actually a good filler, because without it my transaction would have been short one cent to be able to use all my RRs!)

*I actually ended up with .87 cents overage, which I wasn't expecting.  I think that when I was planning it in my head, I had only doubled 2 coupons.  I learned on this trip that Safeway will double any coupon up to .50 cents, and before I had thought that they would only double coupons .50 cents and under.  So, sadly, I lost the overage when the cashier zeroed it out.  If I had known about it, I would have thrown in another cake mix or goldfish.  BUT, I decided that I just paid .87 cents for a learning experience and was happy about all my free stuff!

Albertsons doubler bonanza!

I went to Albies with J and his Grandma today, so I did 3 transactions with doublers (I had his grandma do one with her stuff, since she was not using any doublers.  Then I had J do one, then I went.  It isn't really necessary to have a different person do each transaction, but I just felt like it would go quicker that way, and make me feel less weird!)

.21 Cents OOP at Walgreens!

Pretty good trip to Wags, except that it was the second trip - the first time I went in I was told that NO RRs were printing, in the whole State of Oregon!  I called later to check, and the person on the other end of the phone told me that the seemed to be working, but he didn't sound so sure.  When I went in, one of the girls in cosmetics did a fake transaction for me, and it turns out they were working, again.  Hurray!
This was actually done in one transaction.  I got:
2x Oral B Manual Pulsar 3-D White Toothbrushes (Sale $4.99)
Blistex Fruit Smoothies 3 pack ($2.99)
3x Dentyne Gum (.66 cents each)
2x Arizona Tea 20 oz (.99 cents each)
Green Sharpie (Clearance .24 cents)

I used coupons:
B1G1 Oral-B Pulsar from 6/6 PG
$1/1 Dentyne Gum 6/13 SS
WAGS Monthly Coupon for Dentyne (took off .99 cents)
WAGS in ad coupon for Arizona (took off .98 cents)
Used RRs: $5 Brilliant, $2 Herbal Essences, $2 Herbal Essences
Got RRs: $3 Oral B, $2 Oral B, $3 Blistex

Paid: .21 cents OOP
SAVED: $25.60
Used $9 RRs
Got $8 RRs

The double Oral B RR is a fluke, it seems to be an over lap of this months RR and  last months RR.  It will most likely be fixed tomorrow, so if you want the free toothbrushes, go tonight! Those toothbrushes are expensive, regularly $7.49 - so 2 for FREE is awesome!

coupons.com > redplum.com and smartsource.com

Redplum and SmartSource, why do you hate me?  I have Java installed.  I have the coupon printer installed.  Why do you always tell me that I don't?  Why can't you be more like coupons.com, and work all the time?

Seriously, I groan every time I realize a coupon I want to print is from smartsource or redplum.  They are so hard to print from!  At least 75% of the time I can't print it.  SmartSource always tells me that I don't have Java installed.  But I do.  The most updated version.  Redplum always tells me I don't have their printer installed.  But I do.  Even if I try to click on the button that says "Install Printer!"  Nothing happens.

Granted it may be my computer, which at nearing 4 years old is a dinosaur. But I still feel that I should be able to print my 2 coupons hassle free.  If coupons.com can do it, so should RP and SS.

Examples of coupons I would have liked to print TODAY, but couldn't because SS and RP suck:

$1/1 Ocean Spray Blueberry Juice for .50 cents Juice at Safeway PRINT if you can

$2/1 Smart Balance Milk for a great deal on my milk of choice PRINT if you can

$5 at Target

So it wasn't so much of an amazing deal week at Target, but J and I were going grocery shopping, and I talked him into stopping by so that we could do the Sobe deal.  I was lucky enough to actually have 5 BOGO coupons from the heads or tails game and the facebook page (go HERE to read my post about that).  He agreed, as long as we used the $5 gift card to buy some groceries.  We only have a regular target, not a Super Target, or I would probably do all my grocery shopping there!  The other things we bought weren't fantastic deals, but still free, so I'm not complaining.
We did this in two transactions.
Transaction #1
10x Sobe ( $10.00)
Used 5x B1G1 Sobe coupons (go HERE to see how I got them)
Paid $5.50 ( Oregon bottle deposit!)
Got a $5.00 Target Gift Card for buying 10 Sobes
(there were also a few Target .50/1 coupons, but I had already used them, and they were no longer available)

Transaction #2
Wheat thins ($2.50)
2x Act II mini bags popcorn ($1 each)
Cocoa Pebbles ($2.46)

Used $1/1 Peelie found on wheat thins box
Used $1/2 Act II PRINT
Total $4.96
Used $5.00 Gift card from before
= 0.00 OOP!

Freaking J and his cereal, I swear to God.  He's killing me.  We go months without eating cereal, and now he wants it all the time.  Of course, I'm not stocked on it, so we end up paying full price all the time.  It just kills me that we pay $2.50 for a box when I know I could get it for .50 cents a box during a good sale and coupon pair up!  I'm determined to stockpile cereal now.  It's a must.

Schick Hydro Review

OK, so one of the great things about couponing is that you get to try items/brands that you might not normally buy.  When you are paying full price for things, you tend to either grab the cheapest thing, or you get stuck in a brand rut and always buy the same thing.  Not that there is anything wrong with brand loyalty.  But since I get so many products for super cheap or free, I have had an opportunity to test out things I might not have tried otherwise.  And I have been surprised at how much I liked some of the items!  So, I decided to start writing reviews of the products I try.

First on the agenda is the Schick Hydro.  I was lucky enough to score these for FREE a few weeks ago at Walgreens, and then again last week.  I originally got them for J, but at this point I have gotten so many deals on razors that he has at least a year supply.  I, on the other hand, have NO supply - why are there always great deals on razors for men, but not for women?  Not that it matters, though.  I mean, a razor is a razor, and making it pink and adding "for women" does not really make it any different.  So, when I found myself in need of a new razor, I raided J's stockpile.  I chose the Schick Hydro 3 Blade.

I LOVE this razor.  I have used alot of razors in my day, from the Gillete Sensor Excel "for Women", and the Mach 3.  More recently I used the Venus and the Schick Intuition.  But since using the Hydro, I honestly don't think my legs have ever been so smooth.  This is by far the closest shave I've ever gotten.  Not only that, but there is NO irritation - no razor burn, and no cuts.  I'm not really sure I noticed the "Hydro" effects - you know how in the commercials they say it's "Like a blast of hydration to your face" - well legs, in my case.  I put lotion on most days anyway, so I didn't notice much of a difference, but I will say my legs are silky smooth.

The true test is underarms, though, right?  Usually after shaving my underarms I have irritation, little red bumps...it's not pretty.  But again, the Schick Hydro gave me a close shave and NO irritation!  I have to tell you, I really love this razor.  I think I will be stealing the rest of them from J's stockpile.

I do think that there IS room for improvement in a women's version.   Men and women shave different parts and in different locations.  Most women shave in the shower, and so making the razor less likely to slip out of our hands is an issue.  The handle could be larger, and maybe have some little rubber grips on it to make it easier to hang on to.  I would also really love a base that can be attached to the shower wall, like the Schick Intuition and the Gillette Venus have.  Also, I hope they don't make it pink.  I personally like pink, but I still find it sort of insulting when manufacturers paint something pink and then market it to women.  In keeping with the "hydro" theme ( the current version is a nice, manly dark blue) I think they should make it a pretty turquoise.  And also, Schick, when you make one for women, can you send me one?

FREE at Safeway!

I had 100% savings at Safeway today - even for only 3 items, it's very exciting!
I got:
1 Half Gallon Smart Balance Milk (Sale $3.99)
2x Fiber One Yogurt (2 for $4.00)

I used my FREE coupon for Smart Balance Milk I posted about HERE.
I loaded 2 $1/1 Fiber One Yogurts on cellfire.com
AND
I loaded 2 $1/1 Fiber One Yogurts on shortcuts.com

Total oop: $0.00!  Yay!

The FREE Smart Balance Milk Catalina did not print for me, but I did get a $2/2 Smart Balance Milk Catalina.

A note about eCoupons - I am still learning about them.  You register with these websites and enter your club card numbers (such as your safeway club card).  Then you can upload these e-Coupons to the card.  When you scan your card at the grocery store, the coupons automatically come off of your total for the items that you buy - even if you also use a paper coupon!  Not only that, but the websites update 2 times a month - you can only load one coupon, but then when it resets you can load it again!  That is how I was able to load two of the same coupon from each site.  I was not sure if it would automatically deduct all of the coupons, so I brought some paper coupons as well.  I had the cashier double my two .50/1 fiber one coupons, and then after my e-coupons went through my total was -$2.00!  So, the cashier took off my paper coupons and gave them back to me, so that my total would be an even zero.  So glad to know how this works now!  Check out these sites and start loading coupons now!  I think they will reset at the end of the month.

Near miss at Albies

I nearly got .24 cents cheese at Albies...but not quite.  I was super excited when I spotted some Sargento low sodium shredded mozzerella - and I dug out my .75/1 coupons with glee.  I started walking around the store with them, and then it dawned on me that I should double check the expiration date on the coupons - Dang it!  Expired.  But still, .99 cents isn't bad.  My BFF and I were making pizza that night, so I grabbed two bags.  I also used my 2 free deli meat coupons from Kraft First Taste to score two packages of free lunch meat! (If you haven't joined Kraft First Taste yet, I suggest you do!  I have gotten about 10 free product coupons since I joined in April.  Go HERE to sign up!)

Wags 6/20

It was a pretty fast trip to Walgreens yesterday morning, I was on my way to work and had to make it snappy.  The only problem with that is that I missed a mistake on my receipt - I used the Buy 1 Old Spice Body Wash get 1 Old Spice Deodorant FREE - But the girl asked me how much the deodorant was and I said I *thought* it was $4.49 - I realized later it was actually $4.99 so I overpaid by .50 cents - dang it!  I was also digging every last penny out of my wallet to pay, but I made it!  I hope I can get that .50 cents refunded next time I go to wags, because .50 cents can buy me alot these days!  I got:

Coupon Girl Solidarity

So, my trip to Wags last night was nearly a disaster...OK, that might be an exaggeration, but it wasn't great.  My first mistake was taking J with me.  He always wants to come, but then he doesn't have the patience to wait for me to finish my shopping.  Since it was the end of the week, I wasn't sure what they would have in stock.  I went in with 2 $6 RRs from the Nivea.  I wanted to do a Neutrogena Money Maker, but all the lower priced items were sold out.  I wandered around for awhile trying to figure out how to make a scenario, when I finally thought I figured one out.  I was able to figure a Neutrogena scenario with the $1.50/1 coupons I got from the Safeway coupon book I posted about HERE.  I bought 2 Neutrogena Deep Clean Scrubs and One Oil Free Acne Wash.  These were the cheapest items in the store.  They were on sale for $4.86 each, so $3.36 each after my coupon.  Total was $10.08, and then got a $10 RR.  So basically .08 cents for 3 cleansers.  I got 2 $1 candys as fillers because I had to use my 2 $6 RRs.  I planned on turning around and using my Neutrogena $10 RR to get
1 Schick Hydro - $7.99 - $4/1 MQ = $2.99
1 Nivea Men's Body Wash $5.99 - $3/1 MQ = $2.99
1 Gillette Pro Glide $9.89 - $4/1 MQ = $5.89
1 filler (butterfinger .39 cents)
Here is where it got funky.  This Gillete Pro Glide coupon keeps messing with my math ( I think it has something to do with the fact that the coupon is actually a $4/1 and I keep thinking it is a $5/1 because the RR is $5, and the Schick coupon is $5).  Somewhere along the way, I figured my scenario would be under $1 OOP - But after handing over all my coupons and RRs, I still owed $2 something OOP.  And I only had like $1.25.  At this point, the line had started to build, and I felt like a deer in the headlights.  I could not figure out why my total was so high, and I didn't know what to do.  About that time, the girl in line behind me started talking to me about coupon blogs.  She was a fellow coupon girl!  I asked the cashier to void my transaction, because for some reason I just couldn't get it together.  She was sooooo annoyed at me, but called over a second person to open another cash register as there was quite a line building up (and this was like 9pm on a Friday night, who are these people?)  I apologized to the general public around me, as I felt my cheeks flushing - talk about humiliating!  My coupon friend casually said "Been there, done that" and kept chatting away to me about various coupon related things.  After chatting with her for awhile, I decided to head home for the night.  I still couldn't figure out where I got so tripped up.  When I got home, I realized that I could have just removed an item and added a filler to keep my oop lower, and then made a second transaction to get the rest of my items.  I had planned on doing that today, but my work schedule didn't really allow me to get back to Wags.  And some time today I realized that the world would not end if I didn't get another Schick hydro for the rebate.  All I can say is Thank Goodness for coupon girl solidarity!  If that girl hadn't been there, I think I might have died of embarrassment.
Anyway, here is what I DID end up with.  Luckily, I really like the Neutrogena face wash, so I don't feel like I threw away a bunch of RRs.  I did loose 2, but really didn't do that bad.  Oh, I almost forgot that I did find the Scotch Desk Grip Pop Up Tape on Clearance for $1.09.  I used a $1/1 Printable to make it only .09 Cents! (coupon no longer available, but there is a .75/1 HERE!  Please remember that clearance varies greatly from store to store, so this may or may not be available in your area!)
Paid .16 cents OOP!

A much better Target Trip

So after my Epic Target Failure last week, I wasn't so hot on going back for awhile.  But I started noticing that there were alot of deals to be had there this week, so I decided to venture out.

OOP: $11.39
Saved: $41.66

Part of the reason my OOP was so high was because I did make some unexpected purchases.  The cereal was not the best deal as it was not on sale, so paid $1.89 a box for them.  Since I am not stocked up on cereal, I am sort of stuck paying more for it.  Plus, as always, J talked me into it :)  We were also desperately in need of paper towels, which accounts for almost half of the OOP here!

I did this in 2 transactions:

#1
*Hot Deal*

Overall I was really happy with this trip!  I also feel like J is FINALLY getting why stockpiling is key.  It took awhile, but today while we were looking at the Not On Sale Cereal, I said "OK, Babe, now you know when I want to buy something that is a good deal, and you say 'but we don't need that right now'?"  And he said "Yeah, I understand now why you do that".  Haha!  I'm getting through.  He also commented later on how stocked up we were on so many items.  He even went to look and see how much the sponges that I got for free yesterday at Albertsons would have been if we bought them at Target ($10 bucks).   He was pretty impressed that I got them for free. :)

Yay for Walgreens!

I just love a good couponing trip.  I knew it was going to be a great morning when I was driving to the store and noticed how incredibly beautiful it was today.  It finally feels like summer!  We have had ALOT of rain in Oregon this spring, and summer is getting a late start.  As if that wasn't enough to put me in a great mood, when I stopped by Starbucks to buy a paper ( yes, I broke down and bought a paper this week) I found that I got lucky enough to get the $5/1 Schick Hydro coupon!  Score!  And not only that, but I got an extra set of inserts from the recycle rack.  Woot.   Then, when I walked into Walgreens, I was greeted by the smiling manager who said "Got some coupons today?"  And then told me that they still had lots of bodywash.  Have I mentioned how much I love my Walgreens?  OK, but on to my loot.

FREE Smart Balance Milk at Safeway!

Woo!  Yep, I tried it out, and it worked!  At Safeway there is a catalina printing for a FREE 1/2 Gallon of Smart Balance Milk - it seems to be triggered by another Smart Balance purchase.  I first bought a carton (and there were even .75/1 blinkies right there!), paid $3.24 ( this is expensive milk, but sooo good!).  The FREE milk catalina popped out, so I ran back and grabbed another one, and used my catalina for FREE milk.  Then ANOTHER catalina popped out!  So, it seems you could roll this infinitely, but I have no idea how long it will last.  Also, I got the last two in my store.  In addition to the FREE milk coupon, there was also a $2/2 Smart Balance Milk coupon printing.  So I hope to be able to stock up on some of the best milk in the world, and I will probably soon be having my first freezing milk experiment.  I'll report back to you on how that one goes.

Oh, and while I was there, I found these coupon books  - the "Add Dairy to your Summer Adventure" book was, um, in the dairy section.  As you may have guessed.  It had some awesome coupons in it- I was pretty excited about the $1/1 coffeemate coupon, but there were lots of good ones in there.  I also found a small coupon book in the paper goods aisle, that had a $2/2 Renu Eye Contact Solution coupon, which I will be using at Walgreens for a money maker in the near future.  There were a few other good coupons in there too.  Keep your eyes peeled!

Thanks Krazy Coupon Lady for the smart balance heads up!
